The wheels on the bus go round and round

Bus service will be increasing in Overland Park.

Work has begun to expedite bus service along the Metcalf and Shawnee Mission Parkway transit corridor.

There will be 18 transit stations and two-park-and-ride facilities.

The new bus stops at the Matt Ross Community Center, 8101 Marty St., are currently under construction.

Construction of these projects should be complete by May 15.

The work is part of a federal $10 million investment to improve capacity, reduce travel delays and ease congestion.

Johnson County Transit, along with the cities of Mission, Overland Park, and Roeland Park, and the  Mid-America Regional Council, are partnering on this project.
